A miscellaneous posting

First, Mother's Day. Here is a cluster of loose roses, picked in the back yard by Adam and Julia. I love them.

And here's the card Adam bought me. It's a Mother's Day card, but more from a hubby/wife perspective. He and Julia bought me two luscious Yankee candles. I've been enjoying their scents alternatingly, right here next to me as I type and study.

Yesterday, the yearly pool event commenced. Here are Adam, Peter, and Sam (Peter's friend), leveling the sandy area where the pool will stand. Adam is a stickler now for ABSOLUTE LEVEL, to a 1/4 inch. No more dumping 4000 gallons of water into the neighbor's yard!

Philip left yesterday with the senior class, for the Dominican Republic. They'll be doing a medical missions trip for a week. Those of you who know Philip well will find this puzzling. Philip? Needles? Wounds? Surgery? Yeah, I don't think so either :) No, Philip will be working with the little kids for the week: carnivals, soccer, balloon animals, puppet shows. Yeah, that will definitely work for him!
And that look on his face? Intentional. There's also his good buddy, Charles.

This time Philip decided to give a more pleasant face. Bon voyage! Don't drink the water!
