A Sane Voice in the Healthcare Debate

This video clip was sent to me from a friend earlier today. Mr. Rogers is a congressman from Michigan. His words make total sense to me -- Obama's healthcare proposals would penalize 85% of the population (FINING employers who offer independent insurance, and individuals who didn't/couldn't pay what the government required), in order to fund this plan!

And what happens if all individuals, and all employers DO comply? Then there are NO fines leveled. And then there's not enough funding.

Mr. Rogers said these words in the summer, but much of what he discloses is still very pertinent to the debate. Obama's goal is a government-run, single-payer system -- always was, always will be. Any proposal from the Democrats will at LEAST be a step in that direction. Mr. Rogers's words about the inferior care (and shorter life-expectancy) of that system, were sobering.

"You present us very false choices." So true. There ARE better options being offered to repair the parts of our healthcare system that are broken; They are simply not being given the chance to see the light of day.
