One of Julia's school assignments while we were at the beach was to make a shell collection, a large one. She did a great job! When we returned home, she drew pictures of the shells. She also arranged them in a display, which you see a little of here:
Some of these shells are tiny -- miniatures. Julia also made the little beach umbrella of paper and a twig. We put blue/green food color into the tub to make the "sea," with coral in it that she collected too. And since we didn't have any sand, she used: corn meal!!
I think it's just lovely, and so creative. She's enjoyed looking at it, and it has reminded us both of our week at the beach and the relaxation and fun we had.
