Hey friends! Today I want to redirect you to a valuable webpage. You can reach it by clicking this link.
The young man is Michael Garreau. (He's the son-in-law of a college friend of mine.) Fifteen months ago, he contracted a quick and devastating disease, Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He was completely paralyzed. His medical bills reached over 1 million dollars. Michael went from being an active mountain-climber to a vegetable, in 3 days. He was a theological instructor at the institute shown on this webpage.
On the page, you'll find a short video, which will take you through the first year of his slow recovery.
But the audio feed there is Michael's recent testimony. Basically he fully explicates to us how our sufferings (and boy, has he had a few!) are an expression of God's love for us. God has lessoned Michael on this truth in the past 15 months. He experienced many doubts, sometimes wondering what he'd done wrong for God to punish him this way. But finally he realized what Scripture teaches: that God loves the child whom he chastens. In giving us suffering, God is showing his faithfulness.
What a thought!
Please listen to him.

Thank you for this. What a journey this family has had, and God's been faithful.
