Beryl Visits Oriental
Tropical Storm Beryl blew up the coast on Wednesday. She gave Oriental 3" of rain and then went on her way. That kind of rain fills up our ditches, and sometimes our yards.
And sometimes our streets. (This is Hodges Street.) The watery area behind the bushes is the "Dragon Pond" where an inflatable dragon usually rests. The rainwater ran from there, over the street, and into the harbor.
Philip and I rode out to see the high water.
I like the tiny barnacles (or whatever they are) on the rocks.
This poor stingray was washed up on the rocks and died. He's actually upside down.
This is Oriental: neighbors visiting in the street with their bikes and dogs, cooling off by standing in the water.
