While on our mini-vacation in Bath, I did a little watercolor painting. As I said before, I do best when I copy. Shameful, I know, but there it is. I found an image on Pinterest and loved it. It comes from this website. You'll have to click over and see it, because I'm sure it's copyrighted, and ... well ... it is art. Somebody else's art. It's a lovely stack of plates and teacups.
So, here's my version:
I don't copy exactly. I mostly need the form, the shape, the shading, as a guide. Mine isn't anything close to as pretty as the original, but it was sure fun to do.

I think it's pretty. I'm the same way with sewing and cooking and knitting and everything....my best is using someone else's ideas!
Blogger's messing me up here....
Once again.
I think you've done a wonderful job, and since watercolor always messes me up, am a tad envious. :)
Hope you hang it up. Very frame-worthy.
I like it! I'm impressed. I was just thinking this morning how I have two empty places that could use some pretty art.
Love your version! I admire watercolorists who can use so many colors to represent shadows. I'm kind of "safe" in my paintings. I'll learn eventually, I hope! Glad you had fun doing this. That's the main thing!
I love your painting! And copying and then adapting is how we learn -- whether it's painting, or sewing, or cooking, etc.
