August Is a Happy Chaos

Beware, because my posts this month may be crazy hodgepodges of activities. We have so much going on. I feel like I just got home from the mountains, even though it was well over a week ago. Anyway ...
Adam decided to make granola bars. He read lots of recipes and came up with this rendition. It has chopped dried figs (which are on all the bushes in town right now), pecans (from a friend), chocolate, honey, oats, and sunflower seeds. It's chewy and full of fiber.
After putting the lettering and leaves on her wall, Julia decided to branch out (haha!) and cut a silhouetted tree from three sheets of black posterboard. Here she is in mid-project:
Peter and Kara arrived late last night, and this morning we took them sailing for the first time. Kara had never been on a boat before. It was good sailing weather, and we had fun. However, Adam lost his phone in the river again. This is the second phone he put in the drink, in two weeks.
Peter liked perching and perusing the river. He was a natural on the boat.
Kara borrowed my hat and enjoyed the ride.
We got a little sun on our white skin, but only stayed out a couple of hours. The river had some chop, not too much, and just the right amount of wind. We put up the mainsail and the genoa.
Now Anna is home for her overnight break from camp, and we'll ALL be in the house together tonight! How wonderful that is! Adam's making pulled pork sandwiches for us. Yummm. Happy, happy Mama here :)

It IS so nice for you to have all your babies at home for a bit. I so understand that...and everyone enjoys it. Well done, girlfriend. Your children love you. ;)
