North Topsail Beach is working on their sand situation. See the big machinery tracks? They're moving sand.
And they've laid this massive metal pipe along the beach, we assume to contain the sand on the top of the beach. Hard to know.
I guess they'll get their beach in order before summer.
This morning was so foggy. Standing on the beach and looking back, the houses were barely visible along Topsail Road.
The beach was vacant save two fishermen. We shell-sought to our heart's content.
Christine found a few hundred shells, I think.
The beach was still rocky and rough.
I tried to get a shot -- any shot! -- of the five of us. Well, the six of us, counting Muffin :)
My sea-colored infinity scarf I made for the trip did great as a neck wrap, if I doubled it over. What a great idea!
I found a few choice shells.
We finished last night's game of Mexican train dominoes, and then played an entire second game today. Each game is 13 rounds. Stiff competition reigned! We're lunatics ... and old ladies, I guess, but I don't mind. It's fun hanging around with old ladies like me.
You'll note this ladies beach trip was rather devoid of mall shopping, sight-seeing, fussing and fighting, and other such shenanigans. We are a relaxed bunch, and we prefer not to wear ourselves out with stuff we can do at home anyway. We wanted to spend time together doing things we can't do at home: beach-combing, playing games, cooking and eating together, and staying up late laughing.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. I'm going to have to gather my girls up for a trot out like that.
Looks like a fun outing although a bit overcast weather wise. Loved your shell find.
