Advent 16

The weekend went crazy with 2 concerts (in which I played, sang, directed, and did a solo), farmers' market, regular church activities, plus a Candlelight Service in New Bern. Phew!
This is First Presbyterian Church in New Bern, where Adam and I went for the service last night.
It was gorgeous.
Candlelight, handbells, children's choirs,
beautiful readings,
all in a church building
from the early 1800's, I think.

You sure did have a busy weekend!!
I'd love to find a service with candlelight, handbells. and beautiful readings. They seem to be harder and harder to find.
Have a good week.

What a beautiful church. I would have loved to hear the handbells.

You are a busy lady. You know, I've never understood what Advent is. Guess I need to read about it. You can sing too! You really are amazing!

GM, they really can be. I'd check with area Presbyterian, Episcopal, or Lutheran churches, esp. the old, traditional ones.

Karen, they had a wonderful handbell choir. They obviously practiced a lot all year long. Amazing.

HP - it was a busy weekend! I didn't grow up with Advent either - at all! But now I enjoy dedicating the weeks ahead of Christmas to really pondering it and preparing for it. It keeps it, for me, a more spiritual time instead of falling into the commercial craze. Plus, it seems to make Christmas longer, which I love :)
