Merry Christmas!

This is one of my favorite things in the house for Christmas this year, a handmade hooked rug.
I found it at the thrift store for $2.
As some of you long-time readers may recall, this old manger was made by Adam many years ago. I don't remember where the figures came from, probably my mother.
Our church sanctuary and fellowship hall are beautifully decorated this Advent.
The Neuse River is stunning in all seasons!
What have I been making? Here's a "Purse Baby" I crocheted/sewed for my granddaughter.
It opens from being a purse, into a bassinette with a baby inside. I hadn't made one in years.
Before Thanksgiving, I strung dried orange slices, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks.
This is a new print card from me this year -- a Christmas fox!
And here are two of my three new hens! Aren't they pretty?

Merry Christmas from us at the little farm. No matter where you are in life right now -- happy and peaceful, or in distress and pain -- may the incredible grace of God in the infant Jesus help you through each day and bring gratitude somehow, for all the hope we have. He is our Light, in all the darkness.

I like your nativity, and the hooked rug that you found at such a cheap price. That's the joy of thrifting, finding something that you know you'll love.
Three new hens look happy in their new home. It's nice to have fresh eggs!
Have a wonderful Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

Dear Mary Kathryn, I did not know until just now that you lost your beautiful mother. I am so very sorry. I believe your friend was right saying that we are never the same after our mothers die. We feel such a loss that never really goes away. I seem to miss my mother more as time passes.
Your Christmas post is wonderful. I enjoyed every word and picture. The purse baby is precious! And the hooked rug for two dollars! I've always wanted a Nativity set and every year think I will get one. Walmart has a few but I don't like the painted faces on them. Maybe sometime I will find an old beautiful one in a thrift store. Thank you for your beautiful words at the end of your post. Hope you and Adam have a wonderful Christmas!!
