Bike Ride!

Meet my granny bike! This style of simple ladies bike is called a "cruiser." I've been longing for a bike because Oriental is the perfect little village for bike-riding. Everyone does it here!

Philip also bought himself a bike. So we've been riding a lot. I've had the bike 2 days and taken 6 rides :)
After supper we rode down to the beach. Sandy loves barking at the waves. Because they move back and forth, she assumes they're alive, and thus deserve a bark or two.
Then we rode to the pier.
Beautiful girl, but she doesn't know it yet.
There are some quaint vistas in town, little vignettes. Here's one. It's in someone's side yard. If you weren't really looking, you'd miss these graves.
A simple, classically beautiful house. I love the yellow trim. Many farm houses like this are dotted through the town.
The town is riddled with creeks and ditches like this.
This is a modern house, rather showy and big. But even in this one, you see a porthole, and a roof the color of the sea.
I enjoy looking at these twisted trees. I think they show how tough it can be to live all your life next to the sea.
The river is stormy and choppy today.
Another fun mailbox! The sailor's motto: if it moves, lash it down!

I can't begin to express how much I am loving these vignettes opf you all settling into this so perfect God story and place! I'm sure you can't begin to express how much you love it full stop! Though actually you're doing, characteristically, a most excellent job!

Ahhh - Mags, thanks :) We are very happy here. I would compare myself to Briar Rabbit, in his briar patch. This is definitely my niche!
