Adam has sensitive skin. He's struggled with shaving for many years, but he loves a very smooth face and dislikes wearing a beard. He tried an electric shaver several times. The boys recommended a safety razor (not a success), and they introduced him to specialty shaving soap, which he likes a lot.
Still, he has irritated skin when he shaves; this past week it was rather bad. The razor scratched. He asked me about pre-shaving oil, which is expensive. When he told me the ingredient list, I said, "I can make that for you, honey."
It's a simple oil blend of olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, and a little tea tree essential oil. Adam says next time he might prefer to omit the coconut oil and replace it with a lighter oil, perhaps grapeseed oil.
Right now, he's rubbing this oil blend into his face before shaving and afterward, and it's making an astounding difference. He shaved this morning at 5:00 (yeah ... I know!). About 12 hours later, his face was still smooth -- as smooth as if he'd just shaved a few minutes before. Plus, there is now no irritation or scratchiness at all! He's very, very happy with his face.

Way to go M.K. So wonderful that you can make up this oil for Adam.
May you two have a GREAT week ~ FlowerLady
Another problem solved! I think you can concoct ( is that a word?) a recipe for anything.
Well, that is pretty impressive. And all natural - no mystery ingredients. Well done.!!
Wow!! How satisfying for you both, and a great relief to Adam! All these little irritations and problems add up, the older we get, and it is a great boon to be rid of even one!
