My Giantex Easy Life Washing Machine

Some of you have expressed interest in my new washing machine. Adam purchased it through Amazon while I was gone to West Virginia. It's advertised as portable and compact.
I love this machine. It's smaller; here it sits beside our old, standard-size dryer:
I really like the absence of a central core. This is basically a bowl that you fill with laundry, and the machine balances it. The absence of a central pillar allows more movement of the clothes and prevents unbalanced loads.
The little blue panel you see above is a lint filter, easy to remove and clean out.
The machine has a clear plastic lid that folds in half and lays back easily. Everything about this machine is easy and quick.
Here's the control panel. It has EIGHT different water-level settings! The lit box in the middle toggles between telling you what type of cycle the machine is presently in, and how many minutes are left until it's finished with that load. I love that!

It's quick to set: push "power"; select your water level; select one of the coded types of loads on the right (it defaults to 01, "normal,"); push "start." Done.
This machine cost $219. The part required to repair our old washer, which was rusted out and very old, was $109. The cost of a new standard-size washer from Lowes was about $350.

I'm so happy with this new appliance! It's easy to do small loads, and is perfect for the two of us. A typical "full load" on this machine is 3 large bath towels and a few washcloths. It's quite easy to stay ahead of our dirty clothes.

So that's the skinny on our new machine! It's worth downsizing to this type of machine if this sounds like your cup of tea.

Very nice! Sounds perfect for 2 people! Should the drier fail, is there a small drier as well?

I am glad that you are pleased with your new machine. Machines seem to look very different in the US than the UK!
