The Amish Diet

This is my husband's first diet, ever. He's been on it over a month. Basically, the Amish diet is this: you can eat what you want, and do what you want, as long as you take 20,000 steps each day.

Yeah, right.

He began with a modified Amish. 10,000 steps per day. A little step-counter from WalMart for $4.88 keeps track for him. Then his old competitive spirit awoke, and he began to surpass his goal. Now, he's upped his goal to 20,000 per day, since school is out.

He's lost about 10 lbs. thus far. Yippee for him! He's out walking right now.

Hooray for him! Bless his heart... How in the world did it ever get to be called the Amish Diet? It sounds a little too uninhibited to me......... Does he get to ride in a buggy? Blessings,

Buggy would be lovely, but no. I guess it's "Amish" because they walk so much, and they accomplish this 'diet' every day of their lives, without even thinking about it!
