Invisible Storage

Our new house is little, and the kitchen has very little storage -- only two drawers! The silverware goes into one, and the dish towels and dish rags go into the other. So ... where to put all the stuff that used to populate the ever-necessary "junk drawer"? Here's an idea:
This is a shoe-storage unit that I bought at Lowe's. It has 24 pouches, and it hangs on the back of the kitchen door. I keep all manner of things in it:
Everything from a tea cozy to fondue forks, food coloring to matches. It's wonderful! The little hooks on top come in handy too:
And when the door is open, which it is most of the time, the storage disappears!
Voila! I have five of these shoe-storage hangers now -- three for the humans in the house, one on the kitchen door, and another one on the broom closet door. It holds dusting rags, cleaning supplies, suntan lotion, and lots of other things. Honestly, the items are so much neater and easier to find, using this method. I may ditch the idea of a "junk drawer" forever.

Great idea! Is it fun getting the house all organized? It's been TOO long since I did a moving house clean out!

What a great idea! Necessity is the mother of invention, so the saying goes. Good job!
