Commonly Called a Whirlwind Trip

Here's a little photo record of our trip to Chattanooga -- 13 hours of driving, with a fun picnic in the middle. When we stopped at a rest area (the Tennessee Welcome Center, in fact), we found a Chinese acrobatic troupe performing outside the building:
They were very fun to watch, but we had to get back on the road.
We'd heard so much about Philip's girlfriend, Rebecca, and it was fun to finally meet her. It was definitely too short of a visit, but again, we had a long drive back (and so did she). It rained, but we ate inside a shelter. Philip enjoyed wearing his funny yellow rain jacket :)
Isn't she lovely? She enjoys rain, being barefoot, and tea. Kindred spirit.
