Blogasbord

I'll begin with three articles that I just couldn't resist:  our legal system run amock!

First, Michigan.  Did you know a front yard garden could get you jail time? Yep.

And as if that isn't enough, Michigan also says it's illegal to watch your neighbors' kids for a few minutes before they catch the school bus?  What??? Oh yeah. Isn't it ironic that this article is put out by the "free republic"?

In Florida (and elsewhere), it's illegal to help a hungry person, i.e. illegal to feed the homeless in a public place. That's right -- we should keep these folks out of view, because they're unattractive, and y'know, we really only want to see the pretty things in life. Homeless people? Not so much. Sheesh!!!

On a more serious note, here are two articles on China's one-child policy.
The first is an interesting, artistic twist from the BBC of how these lone children feel about being so alone.
The second indicates that there may be a relaxing of the one-child policy, just a bit. Perhaps China is realizing that this policy (in addition to being a moral horror) will produce cultural and social side effects they didn't anticipate?

That's all I got, folks. Busy boxing up, and honestly don't have much to add about life right now.

Interesting, as always! Thank you! Oh, I'm thinking of you as you box.
