On the Stage

Julia has been attending a Children's Theater Workshop for the past two weeks. Monday - Friday, 2:00-5:00. It's an amazing program, run by volunteers, and costs next to nothing. I think she enjoyed it, even though she didn't know the other kids, is rather shy, and isn't that interested in standing up in front of strangers. Their performance was last night. Here's the inside of the little, old-fashioned, small-town theater.
They even have a baby grand piano, and used live music before and during the performance.
The performers -- Julia is in the top left corner, wearing a silly hat.
The series of skits all related to various forms of transportation, and in spite of what might seem like a somewhat boring subject, the skits were funny, the lines were cute, and the kids did great!
This was an early skit about walking, and how primitive men came upon the idea of actually going somewhere on two feet.
This skit was about people stuck in an airport. Poor Julia -- she got the punch lines at the end, when we discover that she'd been living in the airport, waiting for her plane, for several years.
This was the "elevator" skit. Yep, you guessed it. They all got stuck in an elevator too.
In the final skit, Julia got to be the narrator. She did a great job. She said later she wasn't nervous, which I think is marvelous, because that's rather unusual for people on a stage.
I asked her to pose, and this is what I got!
Will she attend next year? I hope so. She said she doesn't think so, but I believe that by next summer, she'll change her mind :)
