I Want You All to Be the First to Know ...

That we have moved! See this beautiful cake? This is just a tiny portion of the wonderful welcome we've received at our new home.
Where are we living, you ask? Do you recall when we visited this breathtakingly beautiful place?
The place with the elegant sea oats?
And rows and rows of sailboats?
Yes, that's our new home town:  Oriental, North Carolina!
Yesterday Adam was ordained and installed as the pastor of Pamlico Presbyterian Church by this group of wonderful men. They are praying for him and laying hands on him, to send him into his new ministry.

He was charged to be a loving and faithful pastor to this flock of dear people.
We've been visiting this church since last September, so we feel that we know these dear believers, and they know us. Adam spent the past few months being called, examined (twice) and received by the presbytery. He feels welcomed and appreciated here.

We're so thankful my parents were able to drive out here for the service. Here's my mother, chatting with one of the many sweet ladies in the church.
Grandfather served as one of the elders on the commission for the ordination. It pleased me so much that he could serve in that role. We had a grand supper afterward. I'd say the overall tone of the afternoon service and meal was JOY!! The church is happy we are here, and we are absolutely thrilled to be here :)
Adam has longed to be a full-time pastor of a church for over 20 years. He received his seminary training, and has preached and taught for many years, in many churches. He's done pastoral work, visitation in nursing homes and hospitals, and funerals. He loves the work. He is a student of God's Word, and takes very seriously the role of the pastor, and the way that a Presbyterian church should run. I'm thankful he has learned all he has, because now he'll have so much experience to bring to this job. I can't think of another church I'd rather be part of. I can't think of a better town to live in. We're on the coast! There's a local beach just a couple of minutes away! People here ride their bikes all over, with little dogs in the baskets. They stroll and chat. I walked to the grocery today for a few items. It's truly a charming village. I can hardly believe God has allowed us to live here. After many years of moving, and many, many trials, we are grateful to Him for this mercy.

Some of you have prayed faithfully for us, especially this year. I want to thank you for your prayers and your love and support. God has answered them, and has brought us here, and called Adam to this pastorate. Thank you!
