What the Kids are Up To

Peter and Anna have been at Band Camp all week. Adam and I volunteered to help clear and set tables after supper, so we sneaked a peak at how they're doing this week:
And we found that they were sitting at the same table, which is a small miracle in itself.
Peter had located his dilapidated welder's cap, which is held together with duct tape.
Anna was all smiles.
Yesterday, Julia and I went to the local homeschool group's Field Day. It was a pretty, warm day. They had a good-sized crowd too. When we lived here before (6-8 years ago), we participated in this group quite a bit, and it was fun to see the families again.  All the kids are a lot bigger (and the older ones are gone), and all most of the moms (including me) are a little chubbier.
Julia plays a game called "Jump the River." She has a good leap!
I don't know what they called this one. Each pair has to rise in turn, and leap across the legs of the other sitters, and come back to their place.
Julia avoids crushing anyone's leg.
A three-legged race. Julia is here on the end, with a friend. They got 3rd place, behind some determined boys :)
The sky above was blue and puffy. I sat in the shade. I must say, it was a little comfort to arrive back here and find the same dear homeschool group, with the same friendly people. Julia declared that there were no mean or snobby girls. Yay!! That's refreshing :)

Ooops! I'm not sure if my first comment went through. It looks like you had a wonderful time with the nice homeschooling group. What a blessing? What's Sandy up to?
